Wallabies winger Filipo Daugunu has had arguably his most impressive showing in a gold jersey to date as he scored two tries in his team’s 36 – 28 win over Wales in Melbourne.
Finishing off a sublime long-range effort inside the first ten minutes following a moment of brilliance from Andrew Kellaway, the Fijian-born flyer looked confident in front of his home supporters, having spent last season with now-defunct Melbourne Rebels.
Whilst he merely ran a good support line for his first score, his second try was a moment of individual brilliance.
Chasing what looked set to be a routine penalty clearance kick from flyhalf Noah Lolesio, Daugunu chased hard.
What transpired was a sense of deja vu as Welsh winger Liam Williams tried to keep the ball live by batting it in field only to find the flying winger who raced away for a crucial score to stifle a burgeoning Welsh comeback.
